Helping Injured Workers Recover Lost Wages

If your work injury has taken you off the job, you may worry how you will make ends meet without a paycheck. When suffering from a physical injury, the last thing you should be worried about is paying your bills. At Reitan Law Office, PLLC, we can help.

For more than 35 years, our family has been helping injured workers get reimbursed for their lost wages through workers’ compensation. Our offices are conveniently located the Twin Cities and Southern Minnesota in Chaska, Mankato and Minneapolis.

Workers’ Compensation Wage Loss Benefits

In Minnesota, injured workers are entitled to a portion of their lost wages. If your injuries require you to take time off from work, you will be entitled to temporary total disability benefits (TTD). If you are injured, but are still able to work with restrictions and, as a result, earn less in your disabled condition than you were earning at the time of your injury, you are eligible for temporary partial disability benefits (TPD). TTD and TPD pay eligible workers two-thirds of their lost wages for a set period of time.

When your injuries are so severe as to leave you permanently disabled you are entitled to either permanent partial disability benefits (PPD) or permanent total disability benefits (PTD).

Workers’ compensation lost wage benefits are not equal to your normal wages. Instead, they are paid out at two-thirds your weekly wage, but are tax free.

At Reitan Law Office, PLLC, our goal is to maximize your workers’ compensation benefits. Our lawyers will sit down with you, face-to-face, to talk through your injuries and claim. Once we understand the impact the injury is having on your life, we can pursue the appropriate workers’ compensation benefits.
