In Minnesota, there is “Strict Liability” if you are attacked by another person’s dog. In other words, if you are lawfully on the property of another and a dog, without provocation, attacks you, you are entitled to recover for the damages you suffer. Many people believe that an owner of a dog is not liable if this is the first time the dog has bitten someone. This is not true in Minnesota.
